Clare's Law - "right to ask" domestic violence disclosure scheme.
Introduced in 2014, Clare's Law is named after Clare Wood who was murdered by her former partner. It later emerged that her ex-partner had a long history of violence against women which included holding a victim at knife point for several hours.
The Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme allows people to request information from police about their partner. It allows police to disclose information which is relevant to their safety.
